Firhaven Contact Centre welcomes referrals from parents, professionals, and local authorities, offering several secure and accessible ways to get started.

 

You can submit a referral online using the form below, over the telephone, or through approved secure email systems, ensuring you can choose the method that best suits your circumstances.

Who Can Make a Referral

Referrals can be made by:

  • Parents and carers

  • Local authority social workers

  • Solicitors and legal representatives

  • Guardians and independent reviewing officers

  • Other professionals involved in a child’s care

We accept both self‑referrals and professional referrals, depending on the level of Family Time required.

The quickest way to begin. Complete our secure online form and upload any required documents.

Send your referral information and documents directly to our team. This is suitable for professionals who prefer to attach reports or assessments.

Telephone Referral

Call us to discuss your situation and receive guidance on the most appropriate service. We can take initial details over the phone and advise on next steps.

Secure Email Referral

For sensitive information, referrals can be submitted through accredited secure email systems such as Egress or CJSM.

Information we need

  • Basic family details

  • The type of Family Time requested

  • Any safeguarding concerns or risk information

  • Relevant court orders or local authority instructions

  • Reports or assessments (where applicable)

  • Contact preferences and availability

If you are unsure what to provide, our team will guide you through the requirements.

What happens next

Once your referral is received:

  1. Our team reviews the information to determine the appropriate level of Family Time.

  2. We contact you to confirm details, request any missing documents and discuss scheduling.

  3. A start date is arranged, along with any transport or handover requirements.

  4. A written confirmation is provided outlining the agreed service and expectations.
     

We aim to respond promptly and keep the process as smooth and supportive as possible.

Urgent or Emergency Referrals

For emergency placement changes or urgent Family Time needs, we offer:

  • Emergency placement handovers

  • Out‑of‑hours secure transport

  • Rapid response contact arrangements
     

Please call us directly for urgent situations so we can prioritise your request.
